3 Things You Love About You

Speak kindly to yourself. It’s a key part of learning to be brave and fulfill your God-given purpose.

While it is easy to notice and concentrate on the many mistakes you make or weaknesses you have, it is much more productive to build your respect for yourself and your uniqueness if you speak kindly to yourself.

Yesterday I read in 100 Days to Brave by Annie F. Downs that I should take a moment and write a letter to myself saying three things I am thankful for about me. She wrote,“Seriously. Do it.”

So I did. I wrote it the way I would write a note or text to a friend. And it made me smile.

I’ll show you the bare bones of my letter without all the details. I was super positive and uplifting to myself and it will sound like bragging if I share it all here!

Dear Christi,

….you are encouraging…

…you have good hair…

…you are a good mom…

Love,

Christi

I don’t think it makes us prideful to appreciate our strengths. I think it makes us confident in a way that makes us brave.

Ephesians 2:10

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do.

What are three things you love about you? Take a couple minutes and write them down. Then I challenge you to reach out to one other person and tell him or her at least one thing you love about them.

Spread a little kindness today!
